# Drawbridge trademark policy "Drawbridge", "Drawbridge Network Architecture", the Drawbridge shield mark and the Drawbridge logo are trademarks of Per Rosenlind. `LICENSE` (PolyForm Shield 1.0.0) grants copyright and patent rights. It grants **no trademark rights** — that is deliberate, and it is the part of this project's protection that does not depend on which copyright license is in force. A copyright license governs the code; trademark governs the name people type into a search box and the mark they recognise in a screenshot. ## What you may do without asking - Say that your work is "built with Drawbridge", "compatible with Drawbridge files", "an importer for Drawbridge diagrams", or "works with Drawbridge". - Use the name to refer to this project accurately — in articles, reviews, documentation, comparisons, conference talks, and bug reports. - Redistribute the **unmodified** official builds under their own name, with their notices intact. - Use screenshots of the app, with the name attached. ## What needs written permission - Naming a modified build, fork or derivative "Drawbridge", or any name a reasonable person could confuse with it. - Using the shield mark or logo as the icon of anything you distribute. - Any use suggesting this project endorses, sponsors or supplies your product. - Registering a domain, package name, social handle or app-store listing whose name is "Drawbridge" or a near-variant, in this field. ## If you fork it You are welcome to, within the terms of `LICENSE`. Rename it. Change the icon. Say honestly what it is derived from — "based on Drawbridge" is accurate, encouraged, and needs no permission. What is not available is shipping your build under this project's name and mark, because that costs users the ability to tell whose software they are running and who to ask when it breaks. ## Third-party marks "draw.io" is a trademark of JGraph Ltd. "Visio" is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. This project is affiliated with neither. It reads and writes draw.io files and is described as "compatible with draw.io files" — a factual, nominative use, and the only claim made. ## Contact Trademark questions: the feedback form at .
